Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts that exist in various District Local Governments. Applications should be filled in triplicate on PSF 3 (Revised 2008) and submitted to the Secretaries of District Service Commissions of the respective Districts where vacancies exist; to be received not later than 22nd March, 2017


The application form (PSF 3 Revised 2008) is obtainable from Secretaries of District Service Commissions, and Health Service Commission Offices at Plot No. 1 Pilkington Road Workers House 3rd Floor- Kampala, or can be downloaded from the Health Service Commission website, www.hsc.go.ug/library and Public Service Commission website, website www.psc.go.ug


Serving officers must route their application forms through their heads of Department or Institution, who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.


Applicants are required to attach certified photocopies of academic certificates, transcripts, Registration Certificates and Licenses for professional cadres, copies of letters of appointment and confirmation letters as it may apply. 3 recent original passport size photographs. The job title and reference number of the vacancy applied for must be quoted.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

District Health Officer

U1E

    (a) Must have MBChB or BDS or their equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.

(b) Masters Degree in Public Health, or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.

(c) Must be registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.

(d) Must have working experience of at least eight (8) years in Clinical Practice and Health Service Management.

(e) Must have well-developed inter-personal skills to be capable of managing and supervising staff

Assistant District Health Officer (Environmental Health)

U2

(a)Must have a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health Science

  1. Diploma in Health Service Management from a recognized Institution

  2. Master’s degree in environmental health science , public health or public administration & management is an added advantage

  3. Must be registered with the allied health professionals council

  4. Should have working experience of at least six(6) years as a Health worker, three(3) of which should be in a management position

Assistant District Health Officer(Maternal Child Health)

  1. Must have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized institution or bachelor of public health nursing

  2. Double trained registered nurse /midwife from a recognized institution

  3. Diploma in Health Services management or related management from a recognized institution

  4. Must be registered with Uganda Nurses & midwives council

  5. Masters degree in Nursing , public health or public administration and management will be added advantage

  6. Should have working experience of at least six(6) years as a health worker , three(3) of which should be in a management position

Senior Environmental Health Officer

  1. Should possess a university degree in Environmental health or related field

  2. Should have a post graduate qualification in a related field

  3. Should have relevant working experience of at least three (3) years
