Health Service Commission
BUILDING A FUNDAMENTALLY STRONG AND COMPETENT HUMAN RESOURCE BASE FOR EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE HEALTH SERVICE DELIVERY
On June 16th 2016, a New 7 member team was sworn in as Members of the Health Service Commission of the Republic of Uganda. The team was appointed by His Excellency the President, and approved by the Cabinet (Cabinet Ministers). The Swearing in Ceremony was presided over by the Honourable Chief Justice, His Lordship Bart M. Katureebe.
In his remarks, the newly sworn in Chairperson of the HSC, Dr. Pius Okong on behalf of the new commission, appreciated His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda for appointment the team to serve the commission. He thanked the Honorable Chief Justice for presiding over the innaugural ceremony. He said the re-appointed commission is fully aware of the mandate of the Health Service Commission, as provided for in the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and the Health Service Commission Act. He pledged on behalf of ther commission to address the Key Health Sector issues of
Training and Qualifications, reviewing the terms and conditions of Health Workers, recruitment and management of Human Resources for Health, and take all effort to improve service delivery in the health sector.
